Summer job

On this day Valentine and I decided to take a walk through the museums of Nîmes.

We had only some energy for a classic museum of fine arts and a museum of modern art. And frankly speaking, if it wasn't for this photo, I would have regretted the time spent in the second one.

At the very end of the exhibition, an absolutely dark room was waiting for us, illuminated only by the light of a projector on one side and the light from the open passage on the other.

My attention was drawn to how the illuminated rectangle of the aisle contrasts with the almost absolute darkness surrounding it. In addition, this "natural" frame was not empty - it was a comfortable place for an intern, a young guy who slouched from the weight of boredom of such a profession sitting on his chair.

With no hesitation I took a couple of photos, trying to adjust the exposition so that the photo reflected my feeling of contrast of this scene. Perhaps this is my first serious photo, which is beautiful not because of what is happening on the screen, or because of the meaning it can hide in itself. For the first time I felt that it was my vision of contrast, my sense of geometry that made this rather boring life scene a vivid visual impression.
