Gare Massy-Palaiseau

On this day I went back in time for a while. In October 2020, bars, gyms and other public places were again closed due to the sanitary situation.

One of the few remaining opened climbing halls was Arkose-Massy, next to which I rented a small room four years ago at the beginning of my life in the Parisian region.

So for the first time in a long time I’ve got a reason to return to this small town, where I spent a couple of years of my life.

Even though the day was cloudy and did not promise much light, I still brought my camera with me. I managed to take some photos inside the railway station which, despite the lack of natural light, was well lit by it.

After the fifth or sixth photo, I crossed my eyes with the station staff (two funny guys on the photo below). They approached me a little uncertainly and explained that I can't take photos on the territory of the station without special permission. We talked with them for a few more minutes about how difficult it is to be a photographer in the modern world (just two days before I had a not very pleasant conversation with the police after photographing the door of the Synagogue in Paris). Then I hid my camera in my bag to not bother anyone else.

Still, I am glad that despite the bad weather and prohibition by the station staff, I managed to keep this photo. This place is filled with my memories of how difficult it was to take the first steps towards my integration into French society.
