Piscine
On this day, as on other days of that unforgettable week, I was overcome by very contradictory feelings.
On the one hand, I was very glad and proud that I managed to pass the selection for the TV program "Ninja Warrior". Together with my friends (Valentin was also involved) we were moved into a villa in Cannes with a view on the sea and a large overflowing swimming pool.
On the other hand, I could not fully experience the joy of being with friends in such a paradise, even though I have been dreaming of it since long. As well as other participants, I couldn’t escape the tension and thoughts about what awaits us in the evening. I was only thinking about how to plan my day to be at the peak of my form during the shooting.
The intensity was growing with every new stage. Only at the very end, when I gave up for the first time and, falling, felt the warm water of the safety tank, all the tension seemed to have washed away, and I smiled with the most sincere happy smile, realizing that the test for me was over.
I took this photo just the day before the first shooting. Valentine didn't seem to be very worried about the challenge that was waiting for us the next day. Unlike me, he fully enjoyed the moment - together with the other candidates, he climbed to the edge of the pool and did various acrobatic tricks such as handstands and flips landing in the water.
Of all the shots taken, there was something special about this one - the figures of acrobats, who had prepared for the handstand, together with the reflection from the water, reminded me of the aliens from the “War of the Worlds”. At first glance, without knowing the context, it is hard to say whether those are humans or strange animals standing on four elongated limbs.
